About Us
Meet the Team at The Mouth Matters
Amy Ford is the owner and founder of The Mouth Matters LLC. She graduated with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Towson University and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Amy has over 9 years of experience with the pediatric population in the school setting. After experiencing feeding difficulties with her first child, Amy began her journey to further educate herself on feeding disorders, myofunctional therapy, and tethered-oral tissues. Following 3 years of training, Amy felt ready and empowered to begin her own business to help other families in search of answers to their children’s feeding and speech challenges. Currently, Amy works with both the pediatric and adult populations. She focuses on building relationships with families to provide treatment that is both fun and effective.

Amy resides in northern Baltimore County with her husband, two children, and their dog and cat. In her free time, she can be found hiking, cooking, attending bible study, or reading a good book.

Client Testimonials
"We started working with Amy when our son was struggling with a speech delay. He immediately connected with her in a way he hadn’t with any other speech language pathologist he had worked with. She also brought to our attention things about our son that other professionals had missed, that once addressed, greatly improved his quality of life.
We’ve seen remarkable progress in speech clarity, fluency, oral strength and eating skills since working with Amy. What we love most is Amy’s attention to detail and her consistent willingness to go above and beyond for our child’s needs. We also appreciate her patience and ability to connect with him and make speech and myofunctional therapy fun."
